For many of us it takes a lifetime to realize a dream, but this is not the case for Dean Çelaj, the Albanian innovator, included in the list of the American magazine “Forbes” of 30 people under 30, who are so close to realizing the dream , to make radical changes, not only in the community and state where they live, but beyond, in a world without borders.
Dean Celaj: I received the news via email. It was a surprise to me. It said: Congratulations, you are part of the list in the category “Social Impact”.
Akademi.al started as a desire of mine to contribute to my country. We started it shortly before the pandemic, but it turned out to be successful during the pandemic. This platform has over 500 thousand users, students and teachers from 1300 public schools in the Republic of Albania. According to our statistics, 91% of all students in Albania have downloaded this platform.
Because of this project, I went off the radar of Harvard University when they offered me a 100% scholarship to study at their university, and then one thing brought another. After some conversations with American professors, my platform was considered very good for the American market as well. We have won several international awards and there we started creating other school projects in Boston and now we are seeing America wider. This year, the Forbes list includes Mbape, Paris Saint-Germain footballer Jack Harlow, American Hip-Hop star, Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckenberg, etc. This inclusion in the Forbes list is an indicator of the success I may have in the future, it’s not the time to stop, but to move forward faster than ever, with new ideas and not copied. This news makes me happy, but also motivates me. I can not say if I am a millionaire, but at the moment I am a man who has caused a social impact. I first shared the good news with my grandmother. I was with him when I read the email.
