President Ilir Meta’s decree on the agreement for the Butrint Park Administration was rejected today by the Committee for Economy and Finance.
The review of the Presidential Decree “On the approval of the agreement for the administration of sub-areas of cultural heritage and cultural landscape, part of the national park of Butrint, between the Ministry of Culture and the Foundation for the Management of Butrint” was accompanied by debates between MP Ina Xhupa and the leaders of the commission, Eduart Shalsi.
In June, Meta returned for consideration the agreement for the administration of the park of Butrint. Meta stated that this agreement violates concrete provisions of the Constitution and the constitutional principles of the rule of law.
The President said earlier that the practice followed by the executive and the Assembly of Albania, it turns out that it did not realize and did not ensure the opinion of independent local expertise that has in-depth knowledge of the Butrint National Park, its sub-areas and archaeological sites.
