Following the work to prevent, identify and crack down on criminal activity in the field of narcotics, the services of the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the structures of the Gjirokastra DVP, within the detailed control of the territory, based on information provided on the road police, successfully finalized the police operation codenamed “Zenelaj”.
As a result of the operation, Bujar Novi, 63 years old, resident of Zenelaj village, Gjirokastra, was arrested in flagrante delicto.
The arrest of this citizen was made after the control exercised in the village of Zenelaj, Gjirokastra, near the apartment of the citizen BN, were found cultivated 16 seedlings of suspected narcotic cannabis sativa.
Also, during the search of this citizen’s apartment, a quantity of suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa and a quantity of ammunition were found and seized as material evidence.
The materials in charge of the citizen BN were transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Gjirokastra Court of First Instance, for the criminal offenses “Cultivation of narcotic plants”, “Production and sale of narcotics” and “Illegal possession of weapons, explosives and ammunition”.
