A deputy commissioner in the Pogradec police has been declared wanted by his colleagues, after the security cameras revealed that he was the driver who, the day before, hit a 13-year-old with a car and left the scene.
Citizens with the initials AA are charged with “Violation of traffic rules” and “Leaving the scene of the accident”.
After the accident with the minor with the initials OS, the citizen with the initials MA, the brother of the deputy commissioner, appeared before the officers as the driver of the vehicle. An investigation has been launched against the latter for the criminal offenses of “False statement before a judicial police officer” and “Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth”.
Notification of the Police Oversight Agency:
The Regional Directorate of AMP Korça has referred the first investigative materials to the Pogradec Prosecutor’s Office, as well as has made the search for the police officer N / commissioner AA, suspected of “Violation of traffic rules” and “Leaving the scene of the accident” , provided by Articles 290 and 273 of the Criminal Code.
From the first actions it results that the police officer, on 28.06.2022, while driving his vehicle, injured the minor citizen OS, 13 years old, who after receiving treatment in the Korça hospital left for the apartment.
Also, after the arrival of the police services in the first moments of the accident, the citizen MA (brother) appeared as the driver of the vehicle, but from the examination of the film footage, the police officer, AA, was proven as the driver of the vehicle.
As above, after the investigative actions in consultation with the ready prosecutor, the materials in free condition were referred to the citizen MA, as a suspect for committing the criminal offenses “False statement before the judicial police officer” and “Actions that hinder detection of truth ”, provided by article 301 and 305 / b of the Criminal Code.
