A giant cat that weighs as much as a 2-year-old is so big that it is often confused with a dog, says its owner.
The cat named ‘Kefir’, after the characteristic Russian buttermilk fermented from milk, is a huge ‘Maine Coon’ cat belonging to Yulia Minina in the town of Stary Oskol.
She says she bought Kefir two years ago when she was a kitten but still the white daci continues to grow.
Yulia says: “I could not have imagined a kitten becoming so big. “He is not only great in appearance but he is also very intelligent and behaves very gently.”
“Kefir has the look of a person but it is very loving and modest, even though it is still young.”
“When friends and acquaintances come home, he gets all the attention and lets everyone pet him, just like a dog.”
And in fact the woman adds that often foreigners confuse her with a dog: “There is another habit, at night he likes to sit on me to sleep, when he was younger it was not much of a problem, but now that he is older “It’s hard, it’s a little difficult.”
“Kefir is already one year and ten months old and weighs 12 kg. “But he is still considered a kitten and the Maine Coons cat breed can grow up to 3-4 years.”
This breed comes from the US state of Maine and is considered one of the oldest in the country.
It is also considered one of the largest domesticated cats since the Savannah in the 1980s.
The Maine Coon also holds the record as the tallest cats in the world, of which Stewie from Nevada reached the record at 122 cm from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, before dying in 2010.
