The Greek media have received with great interest the news of the surrender of 20-year-old Albanian Rogers Demirazi, for whom an international arrest warrant was issued, part of the group of hooligans who attacked and killed 19-year-old Greek Alkis Kampanos on the evening of February 1, in a neighborhood of Thessaloniki.
Sources for Top Channel inform that the 20-year-old was handed over to the Greek authorities around 21:00 in the evening, while at 13:00 in the afternoon he was handed over to the Korça police.
In an interview with a Greek channel, Demirazi claims that he left Greece because he feared for his life.
“For my role in the event, I will tell all to the prosecutor, I will surrender to Greece to face this case,” he said, conveying his condolences to the family of the victim and saying that he regretted what it happend!
The testimonies of other defendants in the murder of the young Greek man, or even the testimonies of the victim’s friends, continue to testify and shock. For the case in question, 11 people have been identified and are being held by the city police, including eight Greeks and three Albanians, aged 20 to 25. Three of them have been remanded in custody and are also awaiting others.
While describing how the murder happened in the approximately 80 seconds that the attack lasted, but also before deciding who and where they would attack, they blame each other. Already the 21-year-old Greek who is said to be carrying the murder weapon, a sickle-shaped knife declares that he did not use it and it fell out of his hand!
For this reason, the prosecutor has ordered DNA tests for all defendants, to verify the extent of their involvement in the crime. In forensic laboratories continue laboratory tests to identify fingerprints and genetic material on deadly tools!
