Hundreds of teachers are protesting in more than 50 Iranian cities, demanding higher wages and better working conditions.
Several reports say teachers have protested in the Iranian capital, Tehran, then in Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Rasht, Qom and other cities near the state.
Reports also say at least three protesters have been detained.
Teachers were said to have criticized what they saw as “indifference to education”, while others called for the release of colleagues.
The protesters demanded that the Government act more quickly in establishing a planned teacher evaluation system, based on their experience and performance.
In some published images, the captions “If embezzlement is reduced, our problems will be solved!”, “We only hear promises, we do not see justice” and “Incompetent parliament, shame on you” were seen.
Teachers have staged several protests in recent weeks.
Security forces sometimes responded with harsh tactics and arrested several protesters.
The protests are taking place amid rising inflation and the impact of US sanctions on Iran’s economy.
Last month, Iran’s parliament passed legislation to increase teachers’ salaries, following days of national protests and strikes that have affected the country’s education system.
The measures passed by lawmakers on January 15 guarantee that teachers will earn about 80 percent of university professors’ salaries.
Iranian Education Minister Yousef Nouri has vowed that the law will be implemented after its adoption, even though he has been introduced there several times, the IRNA news agency said.
