The Greek government has approved a package of measures to help its citizens, due to the economic crisis followed by the Ukraine-Russia war.
The decision was drafted by the Ministry of Finance, where the total amount amounts to 1.1 billion euros, which the state injects into the economy and social assistance for 3.2 million citizens.
The aid package includes assistance to retirees, the unemployed and low-wage earners, families with children and energy and fuel subsidies, as well as assistance to farmers.
The measures include reductions in the price of fuel and energy, a decision that affects 540 thousand consumers in Greece. Also, 200 euros will be given to citizens in need to cope with rising prices before Easter.
The gas subsidy will start in April with 40 € / Këh for households and 20 € / Këh for businesses, at a cost of 30 million euros. The total cost of the electricity and gas subsidy is estimated at 636m euros for April.
The increase in electricity subsidy for households and businesses and for businesses has doubled to cover about 50% of the increase for April, at a cost of 278 million euros.
A subsidy of 110m euros will be provided to cover the largest percentage of electricity growth for the January-April period in small businesses.
Doubling the minimum income for 241,281 beneficiaries of the guaranteed minimum income, at a cost of 50.9 million euros.
For pensioners will be provided assistance 200 euros for 676 735 of them low-income and 200 euros for 34964 uninsured elderly at a cost of 7 million euros.
Even for people with disabilities, the amount of 200 euros will be given to 166,982 beneficiaries with disabilities at a cost of 33.4 million euros.
