Four people have drowned in the frozen Lake Vallsjön near the southern Swedish town of Jönköping.
Jönköping Police Department spokesman Björn Öberg told the country’s official TT news agency that they had exhumed the bodies of four men, aged 65 and 75, who had fallen into the water and drowned from breaking the ice.
Öberg said rescue efforts began as a result of denunciations by relatives of the victims, adding that they currently have no information as to why the persons in question went over the frozen lake.
