The “Sunny Hill” garden in the heart of Tirana, rebuilt from scratch after the earthquake has completed the investment trio through a donation from the State of Qatar, a contribution to the Reconstruction Program launched by the government in November 2019.
On the second day of the visit to Albania of the delegation led by the General Director of the Qatar Development Fund, the Mayor of Tirana, stopped in Kindergarten 42 in the capital, which has tripled capacity by expanding with a nursery for the little ones of the Blloku area, as well as offers today modern conditions and spaces, for which a special contribution has the well-known Albanian singer of international fame Dua Lipa with her foundation “Sunny Hill Foundation”.
“A year ago it seemed like a dream that we could have the most beautiful garden in Bllok, in the center of Tirana, that we could have a model school in Peza and that we could have a fantastic school like ‘Lasgush Poradeci’, in the center of Kombinat ! But where people cooperate with each other, help each other, have their eyes on the finish and not on the ticks then we can do wonders and this is the example we had with colleagues from the Qatar Foundation, people who collaborate unnoticed small things but focused on the big thing“, Said Veliaj.
The Mayor had a special thanks to the Fund and the people of Qatar for coming to Albania. The General Director of the Qatar Development Fund, Khalifa bin Jassem Al-Quwari, for his part, assessed that the cooperation between the two countries will continue to grow.
