The risk of inflammation in the heart after receiving doses of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine has been discovered in a large study of about 23 million people, writes the British network Express.co.uk

Numerous reports from Canada, the US and Israel have signaled an increase in myocarditis cases after receiving mRNA technology vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, writes the British daily.
Further data from studies in France and Canada show that the incidence of myocarditis cases is higher after receiving the Moderna and BioNTech / Pfizer vaccines.
The British Health Center UKHSA has advised that cases of myocarditis and pericarditis are rare or mild after vaccination.
Swedish epidemiologist prof. Professor Rickard Ljung and his colleagues went further by studying the data of 23.1 million people from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, from December 2020 to October 2021.
They searched for cases of myocarditis and pericarditis, according to the sex, age and vaccination specifics of the patients.
They focused on cases where inflammation in the heart arose on average 28 days after vaccination.
Examining the vaccinated subjects, the group found that they were more likely to give birth to myocarditis after the second dose of coronavirus vaccination.
Specifically, the risk increased by 75 percent with the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine, and by 557 percent with the Moderna vaccine, according to the study.
The group found that the risk of inflammation in the heart after two injections was higher in men aged 16 to 24 years.
The researchers wrote: “The results of this extensive study show how the first and second mRNA vaccines (messenger technology in RNA) are associated with an increased incidence of myocarditis and pericarditis.”
“The highest risk was for men after the second dose.”
“The findings are consistent with other data of 4 to 7 cases within 28 days for 100,000 BioNTech / Pfizer vaccinations and 9 to 28 cases for 100,000 Modern vaccinations.”
The researchers said the risks should be balanced with the benefits of protecting against the disease. The study was published in the medical journal JAMACardiology.
