A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale hit Greece this morning.
Strong tremors were felt as far as Albania. The tremors were 24 km northwest of Larissa, while the depth of the earthquake was 10 km.
It is not yet known whether the strong earthquake has caused damage in Greece. The tremors were initially reported to have a magnitude of 6.9 on the Richter scale, but the EMSC updated the data to a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale.
Greek media suggest that strong tremors were felt mainly in Athens and some areas of Western Greece. Minutes later, at about 12:19 pm, another earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck several miles to the north.
