From today, in Tirana, has started the “Italian Culture Week”, during which a series of activities will be organized focusing on culture, economy, art and music.
In the press conference, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, emphasized the good neighborliness between the two countries.
“We are lucky to have these neighbors. Imagine what Albania would be like today, if we did not have Marco Casamonti of the stadium, Stefano Boerin with the urban plan for Tirana, or if we did not have our friends from Puglia, starting from the cooperation we have for the Water Supply to ‘Iluminaria’, the lights that we will light up today at midnight. We should be grateful for the neighborhood we have, which is more than a neighborhood because what we have with Italy is a true brotherhood“, Said Veliaj.
The mayor added that the first activity of the “Italian Culture Week” are the famous illuminators of Puglia, which will be lit today at midnight in the Municipality of Tirana and in the pedestrian area.
“This is a truly enlightening opportunity. I understand that in the environment where we live, in an urban environment very similar to stress, and traffic, even in Rome and Milan, we need to remove some toxins, remove some cynicism, and the skepticism that sometimes characterizes us, and be a little more optimistic “said Veliaj.
The Ambassador of Italy in Tirana, Fabrizzio Bucci revealed some of the activities that will be organized within the “Italy Week”.
“We have devised 54 events. We thought a little of everything. We have thought of activities, events to please everyone, starting from the most classic ones, of a higher cultural level, such as the participation of friends from the Regio theater of Parma with the Balloon with Masks. Tomorrow, in the evening will be the premiere of this important work, of a very high level but we have also planned many things for young people, such as “Pizza -Village”, where there will be some pizzerias who will come from Italy , in the square “Italia” (and where else we could organize a “Pizza-Village”, with pizza for all residents of Tirana. Enjoy this week, there will be many events, many activities, it will be a very busy week , from June 1 to 7. It’s like enjoying a little bit of Italy, a taste of what Italy knows how to express in terms of artistic and cultural level“, Said Ambassador Fabrizio Bucci.
The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti said that this week will be an Italian taste in Tirana.
“We brought a lot from the Italian taste, from the taste of beauty, from the taste of food. We could not miss Pizza Village, and just as we are bringing the experience of lights, as we are bringing the theater, as we are bringing “The beauty of design”, where we will talk about architects. Many thanks to the ambassador and all the staff of the embassy and the ministry and the Municipality of Tirana who worked for all the details, to organize this week“, Concluded Margariti.
