Political sparks have begun to ignite in relation to the election of the President of the Republic. Last week, Sali Berisha publicly stated that no candidacy proposed or coming from the SP will be voted on, implying that there will be no dialogue.
But today there is a reaction from the group for the Re-establishment of the Democratic Party that they will talk about the issue of electing the president. Meanwhile, this week the SP Assembly will be held and then on the weekend, on April 9, they will convene their Congress.
The Minister for Relations with the Parliament was invited to “Top Talk” where she spoke about Berisha’s positions as the Prime Minister has delegated Elisa Spiropali, Taulant Balla and Damian Gjiknur for this process.
Dyrnjaja: You have also exchanged a reply on social networks about the attitudes of Sali Berisha who says that there will be no negotiations with you. Are you negotiating with the Democrats and with which party?
Spiropali: Sali Berisha is excluding himself from a process where he is neither invited nor will be invited. The whole constitutional process envisages negotiations and discussions with parliamentary groups in the Albanian Parliament and beyond. I do not understand the reaction of the Rithemelim group, nor of Berisha in this case, but apparently, the problems between them are wanting to transfer them now. At this point, we have not met with Alibeaj. Of course, the negotiating group meets to determine our internal calendar of meetings, the calendar of the Assembly, there are some criteria and constitutional processes that we will respect, but the self-excluded can make as many statements as they want, as I heard Mr. Berisha declaring that as long as this Secretary of State would not visit the US, while the US has set the limit and can not visit them because it is non grata. Such statements are for laughter but also for crying because they show us the real situation of the Albanian opposition.
Among other things, Minister Spiropali described Berisha as the last Soviet while commenting on the justice reform that does not spare either senior officials, MPs or ministers.
Spiropali: We have chosen neither to comment nor to defend, but to act when justice speaks. But we are also clear that a man can not be found guilty without speaking justice. He has the right to be investigated, not to be lynched. In these years of justice reform we have examples that the new justice have no hesitation in investigating senior officials. This is a change of procedures. Impunity was the norm, not the exception. Today, senior officials, MPs and ministers can be investigated, but the principle that they can not be found guilty by the rostrum must be respected. We also have the last Soviet who is waging his political battles…
Dyrnjaja: Do you have it for Putin?
Spiropali: We have a smaller one in Albania and its spirit is still prevalent in Foltore, inside and outside the Assembly. We must undo this spirit.
