Special Judge Erjon Bami rejected the SPAK’s request for the suspension of investigations against former constitutional judges.
Bami returned the file, ordering SPAK to carry out additional investigative actions.
A week ago, the Special Prosecutor’s Office requested the dismissal of the case against 7 former judges of the High Court and the Constitutional Court with the argument that there was no criminal offense. Former judges who resigned and were dismissed from the vetting were criminally charged by lawyer Fran Dashi for fiscal evasion and concealment of wealth. More specifically, SPAK requested the dismissal of the case for:
1. Xhezair Zaganjori, former head of the Supreme Court;
2. Tom Ndreca, former judge at the Supreme Court;
3. Gani Dizdari, former judge in the Constitutional Court;
4. Edmond Islamaj, former judge in the Supreme Court;
5. Guxim Zenelaj, former judge at the Supreme Court;
6. Besnik Imeraj, former judge in the Constitutional Court;
7. Aleksandër Muskaj, former judge at the Supreme Court
