For the next 300 days, the Municipality of Rrogozhina has elected as its mayor the SP candidate, Edison Memolla with almost 60% of the votes.
Second on the list was the PD candidate, Ferdinand Saraçi and after him that of the “House of Freedom” coalition, Hekuran Xhani. The difference between them was quite narrow and the race for the Municipality of Rrogozhina took place for second place.
The candidate of the Socialist Party managed to get about 5438 votes, that of the Democratic Party 1966, while that of the coalition “House of Freedom” 1550. Looking at the other municipalities involved in the local by-elections, Rrogozhina is the only municipality where the candidate of DP came out in second place.
The process in this municipality was not contested by any of the candidates, as they blamed the bad weather for the low voter turnout on election day.
In this municipality about 32 thousand people had the right to vote, but only 9 thousand of them exercised it. A number that comes down from the April 25 election by almost 7%.
In conversations with commissioners, voters and political entities, emigration was considered a key factor for this low turnout.
In Rrogozhina, with a court decision recognized by the CEC, voting was also done in prison. 53 prisoners had the right to vote in a special polling station. This center may be the only one in the republic and in these local by-elections where the turnout is 100%.
