Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke today about his wealth and that of the ministers, saying that there is no truth in the news that 2/3 of the cabinet, including the head of government, does not justify the income.

BIRN data show that 18 of Rama’s 27 cabinet members had problems justifying their wealth in at least one year of their careers as public servants.

I want to inform you that in Albania there is a special institution called the High Inspectorate of Declaration of Assets. It is an independent institution, an institution where all persons dealing with asset declarations bear criminal responsibility for any concealment of facts and beyond that, this institution before we came to government did general checks and by lot did small checks which are the same as vetting controls, for every detail. After we came to government, he does petty checks on all of us.
