The Socialists have gathered this afternoon outside the premises of the pink headquarters to celebrate the 31st anniversary of the founding of the party. Unlike previous years this time the ceremony is more private away from the eyes of the media and ordinary speeches.
Founders and contributors of the largest party in the country gathered in the courtyard of the headquarters, where they were welcomed by the General Secretary of the SP, Damian Gjiknuri, Mayor Erjon Veliaj, MPs Etien Xhafaj and Blerina Gjylametaj.
The Socialist Movement for Integration also responded to the invitation, as Erisa Xhixho and Endrit Brahimllari are present.
On June 12, 1991, the Labor Party decided to adapt to the new times, changing its name to separate from the past. The Socialist Party of Albania was born, with Fatos Nano as its chairman.
