The president refuses to recognize the court decision for the 2019 local elections and has warned that he will address Strasbourg, but the Socialists reminded Ilir Meta that the decisions of the Constitutional Court are implemented and are not interpreted.
“The decisions of the Constitutional Court are no longer interpreted, beyond these decisions there is no other decision. “Any attempt not to recognize the decisions of the Constitutional Court is an attempt that does no honor to any institution, this issue has ended here.”, said Balla.
Christmas Eve was the deadline set by the majority for the approval in the Assembly for the extension of the deadlines of the vetting bodies, but the plans seem to have changed.
“Until May, when the deadline expires according to the constitutional provision, the Albanian parliament has an agenda of its own, but let us not forget that in this agenda the opinion of the Venice Commission is intertwined. “No one can put the opposition parliamentary group under pressure of deadlines, and of course this is an issue that will take its time,” said Balla.
The chairman of the socialist group, Taulant Balla confirmed that unlike what happens with the vetting bodies for the Electoral Reform commission, the parties are towards consensus.
Taulant Balla made the comments in the courtyard of the plenary session hall, where this Thursday the confrontation between Edi Rama and Lulzim Basha was missing.
