The Fashion&Textile Atelier at the University of Arts, directed by Najada Hamza, presented 19 years of work creating soft sculptures, non-garment garments that challenge the traditional concept of both fashion and sculpture.
These student creations were presented on a meticulously curated catwalk in the forecourt of the University of the Arts. They had different themes, starting from the roots, black and white, baroque sounds, Picasso, amphora, etc.
Accustomed to see sculpture built from solid materials (marble, metal, wood, etc.) and fashion as an accessory cover of the individual, urban sculptures experiments with forms, materials and non-traditional creations of both disciplines, creating a space suspended between the two, because everyday life does not have to be boring and because sculpture does not have to be mobile.
This compilation of the work of the atelier and the diplomas of the students was made under the auspices of the contemporary art platform Harabel.
