The Skërficë tunnel, part of the Kardhiq-Delvinë road axis, is expected to be ready for vehicular traffic starting on 2 July.
While closely following the progress of works that are nearing completion, the Minister of Infrastructure Belinda Balluku said that the work will be submitted before the deadline specified in the contract.
“With the completion of these last meters that are left for concreting, we move on to the other part, that of asphalting the entrance axis and exit axis of this tunnel and the entire tunnel, the line and everything else will be needed. “There has been a very long wait from all citizens, all visitors, businesses, tourism companies for this connecting axis, so every day that is delivered before the moment will be highly appreciated by all.”said Balluku.
Skërficë tunnel with a length of 3.1 kilometers which is also accompanied by an emergency tunnel. It will connect Gjirokastra with Saranda and its commissioning is expected to significantly shorten the travel time from Tirana to Saranda.
