Shkodra Police has successfully finalized the operation codenamed “Fate of Games”, to crack down on illegal gambling activity. As a result, 3 people were arrested in flagrante delicto, 9 other citizens were prosecuted and 2 owners of the restaurant that was adapted for organizing gambling and using narcotics were declared wanted.
Following the work to crack down on criminal activity in the field of gambling, the specialists of the Investigation Section of Economic and Financial Crime in DVP Shkodra, in the framework of the operation “Fate of Games”, have hit another case of exercising this illegal activities. Based on the information received on the operational road that in the village of Bajzë, Malësi e Madhe, in a bar, the illegal activity of gambling was exercised, immediately the Police services exercised control in the bar owned by citizens LP and GP (brothers), i which turned out to be unregistered with the tax authorities.
During the search of the bar, the Police services found and seized as material evidence a poker table, chips, poker cards and a quantity of cannabis sativa.
Following the investigative actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: AA, 37 years old, who had the role of letter distributor and EH, 32 years old, who had the role of bartender / manager of the premises, for the criminal offenses “Organizing or exercising the activities of gambling ”and“ Failure to escalate crime ”; FK, 19 years old, for the criminal offense “Production and sale of narcotics”.
A search warrant was also issued and work is underway to apprehend the owners of the premises, citizens LP and GP, for the criminal offenses “Laundering the proceeds of crime or criminal activity”, “Organizing or exercising gambling activities”, “Putting available premises for illegal gambling “,” Adaptation of premises for drug use “,” Concealment of income “,” Exercising illegal or unregistered commercial activity “and” Illegal employment ““, Announces the police.
A poker table, chips, cards we used to gamble and a quantity of suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa were seized.
At the end of the actions, 9 other citizens were prosecuted at large, who were found in the premises of the bar playing gambling, for the criminal offenses “Organizing illegal lotteries” and “Failure to escalate the crime.”
The procedural materials in charge of the above-mentioned citizens were forwarded to the Prosecution at the Shkodra Court of First Instance, for further actions.
