The Albanian Football Federation has started contacts for the reception of the families of the Ukrainian football community, who are trying to escape the war in their country.
Following the decision taken by the general assembly on March 2, the AFF has drafted a waiting plan for which the head of foreign relations Erand Ibrahimi tells us something more.
Erand Ibrahimi: Immediately after the decision of the assembly we started contacts with our counterparts of the football federation and futsal of Ukraine. We have expressed our readiness to host 100 families of the Ukrainian football community, for hotels or apartments that we will make available to them.
The situation is getting worse every day and the need to evacuate Ukrainian families is becoming more and more, however there is still no date when the first families from Ukraine are expected to come to Albania.
Erand Ibrahimi: From the contacts we have had these days, our counterparts are taking contacts according to the needs of the football community in their country to compile the lists in cooperation with their government and then find ways to transfer them to the Albanian border from where they will to be then handed over by the Albanian Football Federation for everything.
