The images show moments of horror when a parachutist fell to his death exploding into a fireball after his motorcycle parachute became entangled with the thread of a balloon flying near him.
Pilot known for brave numbers Marcelo Nunes Rodrigues lost his life when his aircraft crashed into the ground yesterday in Aparecida de Goiania, Brazil.
Firefighters rushed to the scene but could not save the 52-year-old paratrooper, who had died on the field from the collision and flames.
Rodrigues’ last moments were recorded in rough video footage.
The experienced pilot is seen flying normally at low altitude until one of the ropes of his parachute undergoes a strong and sudden pull and after a few spirals crashes to the ground catching fire.
Rodriguez’s friend and assistant, pilot Itiel Lima, was at the scene of the accident.
He believes his colleague’s parachute hit the reinforced yarn on a raised balloon, as children usually do in Brazil.
Itiel said that after the collision he fell vertically until the fuel tank exploded, adding that the body of the deceased was partially burnt.
