“Honor and gratitude for the outstanding friend of our nation, Madeleine Albright! Dear friends, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright closed her eyes forever. Mrs. Albright was a prominent friend of the Albanian nation. She visited Albania and Kosovo several times. I had the opportunity to receive her in Tirana as US Ambassador to the UN. At the helm of US diplomacy, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright became a strong promoter of the commitment of world diplomacy and military forces of the North Atlantic Alliance to the liberation of two million Albanians in Kosovo. She remained until the end of her life an excellent lawyer of Kosovo. On this occasion, bowing with the greatest reverence and deepest gratitude before the bright memory of Secretary Albright, I pray to God that her good soul may find the peace it’s supposed. Amen! ”, Writes Berisha.
Madeleine Albright has passed away today at the age of 84. She has been described as a “friend of the Albanians”, as she was in the position of Secretary of State during the war in Kosovo and had a crucial role in the organization and development of the Rambouillet Conference, which resulted in NATO intervention in Kosovo and the cessation of the expulsion and murder of the people of Kosovo and their freedom.
