German Chancellor Olaf Scholz received the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.
At the press conference Scholz said that together with Kurti they had a productive conversation, where an important topic was Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“Kosovo is a country with a fresh history of war, it was positioned in partnership with the European Union, which has supported sanctions and this deserves great appreciation. “The Western Balkans is part of Europe and all its countries must become part of the EU, and of course Kosovo is part of this,” said the German chancellor.
He also said he encouraged Prime Minister Kurti for constructive co-operation in negotiations with Serbia.
“The objective of the Brussels dialogue is a comprehensive agreement between the two countries that opened the two countries’ perspective of the European Union for regional stability. I encouraged Albin Kurti for constructive cooperation in the negotiations. “Ultimately, it’s a matter of benefiting the people of both Western Balkan countries,” Scholz said.
Through the Berlin process, as Scholz pointed out, 4 agreements will be reached that include free movement and recognition of diplomas.
“Further progress must be made in visa liberalization for Kosovo. The federal government engages with the EU and partners. Regional cooperation is very important here. With the Berlin process, Germany has been engaged in this direction for years. “The most important current project is the creation of a common regional market, here I believe we will be able to conclude four agreements on the movement of persons and the recognition of diplomas,” said Scholz./Reporter
