With 350 thousand old lekë you can buy the “last apartment” and without anyone realizing that inside the grave is empty. Fiks Fare denounced the scandal with voice and image in the cemetery of Tufina, in Tirana, bringing facts how the employees cooperate, who have surrounded places, camouflaged them as graves, but which are actually empty and given to those who pay tips.
At the address of Fiks Fare arrived a video from a citizen, which showed dozens of graves surrounded, even with names above, but which were empty. These sites were sold by cemetery staff and employees, camouflaging them as real graves.
Following this information, Fiks reporters contacted an employee of the Tufina cemetery, who indicated that there are places in the cemetery surrounded by concrete like graves, which are empty, but in exchange for bribes have been bought by various citizens. Even the Fix associate was removed as if he wanted a place for the grave. The cemetery employee undertakes to find the place, but for this he had to pay 350 thousand old lek. 300 thousand lekë were for the place and 50 thousand lekë for placing a concrete frame to give the shape of a grave. The money, according to the employee, he wanted not only for himself, but for the bosses.
To make the tomb even more believable, a fictional name would be placed above it. The cemetery clerk tells him of a place he had just surrounded Fiks’s associate. “I surrounded him (the grave) this morning. Close the conversation that the foreign man also wants the money, he told me today if he agrees with the price to come upstairs “says the employee, referring to the fact that one of the bosses wanted his share of the payment. In these conditions, the collaborator of Fiks leaves 50 thousand old lekë, even though the employee of the graves is not satisfied with this amount. “Do not leave this chatter to me, because others harass me for money” says the employee. He even points out that someone else who had bought a grave site had asked for a price reduction.
“I do not make discounts, because I want to get the 5 lekë that are for me. “I will wait for one, two or three months, but there is no reduction,” he tells her. Both parties agree to take two places for graves at the price of 350 thousand ALL one place, in total 700 thousand ALL.
In the second meeting that the Fiks associate has with the employee of the Tufina cemetery, the latter shows him a second grave, which was bought by someone else, but which the buyer had changed as a place. The grave worker claims that he will talk to his boss to find out more precisely whether the place is free or not and then notify him. He even adds that if they agreed on the place of responsibility and gave “ok”, he would make a white frame to understand that it was exactly a grave. But the last word was on the person in charge and what he decided would be done. “I will call him directly until he gives me ‘ok’, but I will not talk long on the phone. “I will either say that tomorrow or February he left me that car for so much money,” said the grave worker.
At the third meeting between the parties, the grave worker also requests an advance for the second place reserved. Even for this place, he receives a deposit of 50 thousand old lekë, asking Fiks’ collaborator to liquidate it as soon as possible with the remaining 300 thousand old lekë. He then explains that this country would follow the same procedure as with other countries, will be framed and to make it even more credible he asks
choose another name to place on the tombstone.
“Tell me what name you want, a name we want, a name we want in vain. “If you did not find it, I will put it,” said the cemetery employee. With the delivery of the deposit, the start of works for the second grave began, agreeing that on February 22 the rest of the money would be paid. According to the cemetery employee, if the money was not liquidated, the grave would be sold. Fiks Fare reporters went to the Tufina cemetery to see the two reserved grave sites. The seats were ready, even surrounded by a concrete frame. Ready for “delivery”, for a bribe of 700 thousand ALL in total.
