Democrat MP Ervin Salinaji requested an interpellation with the Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi this Thursday regarding the OFL and Vetting in the State Police.
Salinaji said that the OFL operations clearly show that there have been intimidations for criminal groups to get involved in election campaigns.
While the minister responded by saying considered OFL a historic moment of the State Police intelligent war against the force of crime.
He stressed that the total number of entities investigated by Operation Force of Law is 2199, of which 1682 are entities identified by the Local Police Directorates.
“The total number of entities investigated by Operation Force of Law is 2199, of which: 1682 are entities identified by the Local Police Directorates; 475 are practices initiated by the Special Structure “OFL” itself; 42 are entities identified by the Anti-Terror Directorate. What I can say is that only in the framework of the Normative Act for OFL, during the period 01 February 2020 – 31 December 2020, the State Police has investigated 2199 subjects, of which 741 subjects have been notified to make a self-declaration of assets ( of which 617 subjects of the act and 124 family / social ties of the subjects) and after the completion of the self-declaration, 239 practices were referred to the SPAK.
First, with the Local Police Directorates in the regions, which have identified these citizens through verifications of their location, family, friendly and social ties, of the properties they administer, of the properties they have registered in the name of other persons or properties they have alienated, information, which has been processed, completed and sent by the OFL structure to the SPAK.
Second, the OFL structure has received from the General Directorate of Prisons, all lists of convicts and those currently serving sentences for criminal offenses that are the subject of that act. And third, OFL has also received from the Department of International Cooperation the list of convicts abroad for criminal offenses subject to this act.
Regarding Vetting in the police, the minister said that those who do not deserve the uniform will be removed from the State Police.
“We will remove from the State Police those who do not deserve the uniform. We will take away our wealth, to return it to society as a form of retribution, but in this battle we must be together. “The politics of divisions and strife should be left to another time, because it does not lead us anywhere”, said Çuçi.
