A charity kitchen in Ukraine, owned by the famous chef Jose Andres, has been attacked being totally destroyed by a rocket in the northeastern city of Kharkiv.
Four staff members were injured in the blast. Jose Andres, said about the event that this is the reality and this work in these difficult times is a heroic act of courage.
One of the partners of the World Central Kitchen (WCK) restaurant was hit on Saturday, according to the kitchen’s charity CEO, Nate Mook. Through a Twitter post he indicated that the injured staff was well and the restaurant team was in the process of relocating all undamaged food products and equipment to another location in the city.
“Work does not stop” he said.
The northeastern city of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest, has been under heavy regular bombardment since Russia began its occupation more than six weeks ago.
