Russia’s Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin stated that Russia would significantly reduce military activity outside Kiev and Chernihiv.
This was a decision taken after the meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations ended.
A Ukrainian negotiator said the country is seeking international security guarantees for territory that does not include separatist-controlled areas of Donbas and Crimea. Russia has indicated that talks could pave the way for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
