Prime Minister Edi Rama in a press conference said that talks are the only way to resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Rama called the recognition of the potential of our country and not the fact that Albania was given the role of being partners with the US to take action on this issue.
Rama: First of all, I would like to emphasize that our positions on this issue are clear, well-known, for me the way to address this growing tension is the way of negotiations, the way of finding all possible reasons to talk, to patiently seek common ground even though it may seem difficult. I believe that every Albanian who pursues a little interest in this issue, today should feel good and part of that community of values, in terms of the opportunity we are given to make a contribution and the fact that we know the ability to make an extra contribution, this is not a random pairing but strategic and principled, and very much about relationships, it is also an assessment that we are not in the field of jokes. It is about creating a partnership that will engage the security council on this topic and not only. We have our plan in this part, we will have the opportunity to play a role, utilizing the weight that this US couple gives.
For other aspects, I do not want to comment, the expression is clear, there was no equivocation, in the modesty of our weight in this confrontation of elephants we say only talk talk.
Xhaçka: We have been committed to priority treatment in and around Ukraine, our positions are public and have been clearly expressed everywhere. We have supported the values on which NATO is based, as for Ukraine we have supported its sovereign right, NATO is a defense alliance, it does not threaten Russia or anyone, but I want to emphasize that our position is to reduce tensions and diplomatic engagement. Every challenge to it affects everyone in the EU. We therefore condemn Russia’s aggressive actions, act through international law and enter the path of dialogue.
