Everyone knows him as Flavio from Tirana, few people know the real name and history of the 22-year-old.
He is Veaceslav Zyka, the son of two Russian parents, born in Moldova. After some events in the family, it was the story of his mother and adoptive father that brought Flavion to Albania, at that time he was 5 years old. He says that he is Albanian and that only his mother’s origin connects him with distant Moscow.
Flavio: I am not of Albanian origin but Russian, because my mother is Russian. I was born in Moldova, I lived there for a few years, then in 2005, we decided to come here permanently to Albania, and I liked this country immediately. It was like love at first sight, I feel very good here I finished school, I have friends and I work here
Journalist: Do you speak Russian?
Flavio: It’s not that I speak it well, but I manage to understand. I know Romanian very well.
Journalist: Do you feel Albanian or Russian?
Flavio: To be honest, I feel Albanian.
Journalist: Your parents are from Russia, how did you come to Albania?
Flavio: We had a bad time, my mom went to Greece to work and there she fell in love with an Albanian and since that day they are happy together. This is how we came to Tirana.
Journalist: Between the Russian and the Albanian passport, who will you choose?
Flavio: Albanian, as I know the customs, tradition, language and history. My mother’s origin connects me with Russia.
The Russian boy says that he can leave Albania only for a big reason, his plans for the future are clear. After completing the barbering course, he seeks to open his own salon.
