Russia has appointed a new official to oversee the war in Ukraine, the United States has said.
The Kremlin has decided to appoint Army General Alexander Dvornikov, who commands Russian forces in the southern military district, as head of the war in Ukraine, US National Security Adviser Yake Sullivan said in an interview with CNN.
Russia has suffered serious losses since the start of its occupation of Ukraine on February 24, failing to occupy major cities, including the capital Kiev.
