Protests in Lezha started this Saturday as well, blocking the road axis Lezha-Milot, but also the road that leads to Tale, Zejmen, Rrilë and Shënkollë.
Also, other protests will be held in a large part of the country.
Today, also, the organizers of the protests have called on everyone to gather in “Skënderbej” square, at 11:00, from where they will hold another march towards the Prime Minister.
“Citizens’ opposition – the government’s response”
The revolt of the citizens came after the morning of March 7, when the prices of various products, in supermarkets, or other services, such as road transport, experienced a drastic increase.
The price of oil – within 24 hours – cost them 30-35 lek more than the day before.
Supporters of the Political Organization stained the walls of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy in a sign of revolt.
Activists, on the other hand, initiated the first rallies through online channels.
Thus, Wednesday afternoon found the citizens under the door of the “head of government”, as if to demand “accountability” for every penny spent more.
The demonstrations spread to the main axes of Tirana, “paralyzing” them.
The next day, police structures, based on the evidence gathered, make arrests for various criminal offenses.
The Prime Minister announced that the government cabinet would announce a concrete plan within 48 hours.
He also emphasized the need to focus on “the truth and the facts”.
In calm tones, returning the citizens to the day of the earthquake and the pandemic, he outlined that “just as we came to the defense of the families of this country, so we will again come to the defense of the families of this country in this crisis situation”.
