The road leading to Rinas Airport has returned with two senses of movement.
After the protests of the residents of Rinas who were penalized by this change, the Albanian Road Authority returned the traffic on the road as it was but appeals to the vehicles coming from the north to use alternative axes not to aggravate the traffic while advising the soldiers to consider the flow late of vehicles on this axis calculating the departure time.
This was the moment when the residents on the fourth day of the protest received the news that the road can be used from both directions.
The same residents who in 1997 defended the only airport in the country, 25 years later protested to oppose the change of traffic, a decision that isolated them as they could not send their children to school or go to work.
Following the resumption of road traffic leading to Rinas Airport, the infrastructure ministry announced the intervention that will be made for a new alternative road that is expected to be ready in July.
With the start of the tourist season, a high flow of vehicles is expected to the airport due to tourists visiting our country or locals leaving for holidays abroad.
