Several Palestinian protesters clashed with the Israeli army in the West Bank, days after the killing of three Palestinians by Israeli forces in Nablus.
Israel says it has killed “three Palestinian militants during an operation against a terrorist cell” in the West Bank city.
Palestinian security sources said that “Israeli soldiers inside a civilian car, as soon as they spotted the Palestinian vehicle, opened fire, killing the three young men.” Footage of the vehicle destroyed by the bullets in the middle of the day was published by local media.
Hundreds of Palestinians had filled the streets around Rafidia Hospital in Nablus yesterday, from where the bodies of three young men were taken. Israeli police said the victims were “armed terrorists killed in a clash with the armed forces.”
They added that those killed “were responsible for attacks on Israeli troops and civilians”. The city of Nablus is north of the West Bank, occupied by Israel since the Six Day War of 1967.
