For Albanians who joined ISIS and remained in Syrian camps there is now more hope for repatriation.
An agreement was signed this Friday in Syria between the autonomous region of the Kurds in Syria and the Republic of Albania, thanks to which 4 women and 9 children of families who joined the terrorist organization ISIS were handed over to the Albanian authorities.
‘Top Channel’ has provided exclusive footage of the signing of this agreement which is signed for the first time with the Kurdish authorities. The women and children were in different camps and were rescued in an operation that lasted 10 days.
The operation was carried out in cooperation with the American services in cooperation with the Kurdish ones. During this morning, the director of anti-terrorism Alban Dautaj together with two colleagues took over the Albanians who in the future they will arrive in Albania. Top Channel contacted the Albanian delegation where he learned that all repatriates enjoy full health and for security reasons their identity can not be disclosed.
In August a year ago, in a similar operation from Syria with the help of the Albanian Consul General in Lebanon, 14 children were repatriated, 6 of whom were born in Syria and 5 Albanian women. Among the repatriates was Endri Dumani who was taken by his father in 2014 to Syria and then lived for 6 years in the Al Hol camp.
Among the Albanians left in the camps in Syria is Endri’s sister, Eva Dumani, who could not be repatriated even in this last operation.
