After a fight with his girlfriend, the pizza delivery man Nicholas Bostic decided to take the car and go for a drive to calm down.
But thanks to that fight, 5 people are still alive today. While driving, the 25-year-old from Indiana in the US passed by a burning house in Lafayette.
The young man did not think twice, but hurried to get closer and see what was happening. The house belonged to the couple David and Tierra Barrett.
They had gone out for dinner and had 18-year-old eldest daughter, Seionna, look after the three younger siblings along with a 13-year-old friend.
When the house caught fire, Seoina and the four minors were inside. The parents immediately left for the apartment, but they wouldn’t have arrived in time to save them if Nicholas didn’t intervene, who helped the others get out and returned to pick up 6-year-old Kaylani.
To escape the flames, he took the little girl in his arms and jumped from a window of the second floor. The 25-year-old received serious injuries, but he did not regret it at all. David Barrett says his family now has a new member.
“God sometimes uses the most unlikely characters. He sent us an angel.” said the father, still shocked, but very grateful.
A GoFundMe campaign launched for Nicholas at the hospital managed to raise $500,000 in a short amount of time.
