The American media wrote ironically yesterday that Congressman Major Taylor Greene “found herself in the soup bowl” as she tried to make powerful comments about the congressional police interceptions of American citizens and congressmen.
The fiery Republican was giving an interview to One America News Network on Wednesday where he expressed contempt for how the Capitol police were used by the ruling Democrats.
But she caused a wave of jokes and memes on social networks when in harsh criticism, instead of calling the officials “Gestapo police”, she named them after the well-known Iberian soup “gaspacho police”.
In an interview, she told journalist Dan Ball: “Not only do we have prisons in Washington DC, which are in fact the ‘gulags’ of Washington DC, but now we also have Nancy Pelos” gaspacho police ‘who spy on members of the US Congress. “They are spying on the work we do, on our staff and on American citizens who come to talk to their representatives.”
Although everyone understood the powerful meaning of the congresswoman’s words anti-vaccine and anti-restriction, the slip caused a lot of laughter about the “soup police” or “soup spies”.

Spanish chef Jose Andres, who owns several restaurants in the US, also joined the gaspacho choir, commenting: “Come when you want without paying at my restaurant.”
Greene did not elaborate on the issue of Nancy Pelosi’s allegations of wiretapping or congressional allegations.
Her personal Twitter account was shut down last month by arguing the spread of misinformation about Covid.
The politician later jokingly commented from the official account of the Congress, saying: “There is no soup for those who spy on members of Congress but will be thrown into ‘goulash’.”
