Human life has been profoundly transformed and is changing exponentially faster – over the 200,000 years that man has walked the Earth.
But for the vast majority of people, sexual reproduction has not changed much. Only about 1.9 percent of all babies born in the US were conceived using artificial reproductive technology.
By 2050, that will change, says Dr. Shanna Swan in a new ‘provocative’ book, ‘Count Down’ explains how the modern world is threatening sperm counts, altering male and female reproductive development and endangering the future of the human race ‘.
Dr Swan, a renowned environmental epidemiologist at the Icahn School of Medicine in Mount Sinai, predicts that by then, a large portion of people around the world will not be able to conceive children without technological help.
This will be the result of declining sperm count among men worldwide, she says.
Dr Swan is also the author of an essential 2017 study that found that sperm count worldwide has dropped by more than half over the past four decades.
And all the signs suggest that the downward trajectory will continue in the coming decades.
There are many infertility executives, but Dr. Sean has found a prime suspect who are household chemicals called phthalates.
