South Korea has recorded over 16,000 more cases of COVID-19, the highest figure since the pandemic began.
The daily figure broke the record for the fourth day in a row, rising by another 8,570 cases.
According to the Korean Agency for Disease Control and Prevention, with 16,096 new infections the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has increased to 793,582. About 24 other patients died, bringing the death toll to 6,678.
