Ramadan Dokle put in place the will of his parents, photographers Safet and Gjylzade Dokle, donating the entire family collection to the museum of photography “Marubi” in Shkodra.
Ramadan Dokle: There are 841 film rollers, which have 19458 negatives. And there are about 9000 stamped photos. All registered.
How were the 30s and beyond in the northern provinces of Albania? Gjylzade Dokle tracked and photographed him daily. While Safet started this passion at the age of 14 years.
Ramadan Dokle: His work has been very great because in our village there was no electricity and he built the dark room with sunlight.
What did your parents photograph?
In this photo library are photographed the whole cultural life of the provinces of Kukes. Landscapes, weddings, funerals, sports activities, etc.
Family members of the photographers, including Namik Dokle, were also present.
Namik Dokle: The most beautiful picture is the picture of my grandmother with two calves in the village. Vices which kiss his hands. One might say why donate all this wealth. Kjonuk is a family fortune. This is national wealth.
So far we do not have a study publication for this collection, as it has been kept out of the spotlight. This is one of the first steps in exposing yourself to the general public.
