Seven icons are exhibited for the first time from the rare collection of the Museum of Medieval Art in Korça.
Selected under the theme “Musical Instruments in the Art of Byzantine Iconography”, they have been restored and brought for the first time to the public eye in an exhibition, thus proving another aspect of art of this period where the use of instruments was closely related to religion. . What remains important is the documentation of these traces through brushes by well-known painters of the time.
There are a total of 13 icons of this museum, exhibited so far, which reflect the instruments used of this era, some of which are still preserved today.
The National Museum of Medieval Art has a rich fund of icons, objects and documents of Byzantine art some of which have not yet been exhibited.
