Laçi and Llapi faced opponents from Montenegro in the first round of the Conference League.
The whites from Kurbin eliminated Iskra with the overall result 1-0 (Mazrekaj), while the team from Podujeva could not succeed against Buducnost. The 2-0 loss in Podgorica was followed by a 2-2 draw in “Fadil Vokrri”.
The opposing fans have appeared problematic in the duels against the Albanian teams, especially those of Bunucnost, who unfolded a choreography against the Albanian nation in the first challenge. UEFA has made decisions regarding the problems that appeared in the first two matches: the one in “Elbasan Arena” between Laçi and Iskra, and the one played in Montenegro between Buducnost and Llap.
About 30 Iskra fans traveled to Elbasan to support their team. They strongly protested some arbitrary decisions, in a challenge where Laçi was denied a clear penalty. Meanwhile, there were also racist calls.
The delegate of the match took note of everything and the UEFA disciplinary body fined Iskra €10,000, while ordering the partial closure of the stadium (sector with at least 300 seats) for the next match Iskra will play on the field own in European competitions. UEFA orders the Montenegrin club to place at the next European meeting a banner with the text “No Racism”, with the UEFA logo on it.
Meanwhile, Buducnosti has been fined €35,375 in total: €20,000 for racist fan behavior. UEFA has ordered the partial closure of the stadium of the capital team during the upcoming match in Europe, which the Montenegrin team will play as the host club, sector of at least 3,000 seats.
UEFA orders Buducnost to place a banner with the text “No Racism” with the UEFA logo on it at the next European match. Meanwhile, UEFA fined the club from Podgorica €10,125 for throwing objects and another €5,250 for lighting fireworks.
