British Prince Andrew has lost the title “His Highness”, military roles today and will face charges of sexual assault on sex slave Jeffrey Epstein, as a “private citizen” has decided the royal family.
Known otherwise as the Duke of York, the ninth in a row for the British throne, he will no longer be able to use his titles and will face the embarrassing trial in the US, where the lawsuit has been filed.
The decision to remove Andrew’s military titles will be painful for the British Navy where he is a veteran and has also served as a helicopter pilot in the Falklands War, writes the local daily Daily Mail.
The development comes as a judge in the US rejected the prince’s attempt not to be tried on abuse charges.
This means that he may face lengthy examinations recorded on camera, embarrassing questions about his private life or even ‘private bodies’, again according to the Daily Mail.
Andrew was prompted to settle out of court the dispute with the accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre ‘for the sake of his mother’, but Miss Giuffre has rejected any alternative.
Royal Buckingham Palace announced the rare decision for Prince Andrew in a statement issued this afternoon, Thursday 13 January 2022.
It read: “With the Queen’s acceptance and approval, the Duke of York’s military ties and his royal patronage are restored to the Queen. “Duke iYork will not continue to perform public duties and will be defended in his case as a private citizen.”
Royal British sources said the issue had been widely discussed and it was believed that military roles would be extended to other family members.
The development comes after about 150 army veterans spoke out in unison about their anger and wrote to the Queen to demand his removal from ceremonial military posts.
The British prince is accused by Virginia Giuffre of having sex with him several times when she was 17 years old and under the tutelage of aristocratic pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, as well as his prostitute madam Gislaine Maxwell.
The former died in custody on charges of sexually trafficking minors, while his partner who supplied him with young girls for trafficking awaits sentencing after the US trial ends.
