Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, as Ukraine entered the second week of the war declared by Russia, that its military operation was going according to plan.
In a speech to the media, Putin accused Ukrainian forces of taking “thousands of foreign nationals” hostage and using civilians as “human shields.”
But he did not provide any evidence for these allegations, reports the BBC.
Russians and and Ukrainians are one people, said the Russian president. “It’s going to destroy the ‘anti-Russia’ that the West has created.”
