Iranian police on Wednesday said they had arrested 17 people who had posted several different humorous videos on their social networks, in the style of a hidden camera, taken in Tehran.
Videos released in recent weeks have been seen by many in Iran, including a video of a passerby being shot in the face with a cake while descending an escalator, and another, even heavier than this, showing a man as if was beheading the woman out of jealousy.

However, it is still unclear what criminal offenses the persons arrested by the police are charged with.
Conservative Iranian authorities have for years maintained strict control over the internet and social networks, considered anti-Islamic. Even in the past there have been arrests for unethical images published on the Internet, where some people were accused of violating public morals.
Moreover various western platforms (like YuoTube, Facebook and Twitter) have long been blocked and can only be accessed through services that allow non-identification of the IP address, which is assigned to any computer connected to the network and which can identify easily, among other things, the place from which they are connected.
