The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha on Thursday accused the Prime Minister Edi Rama as the person who gave the order for the theft of sensitive data of over 630 thousand citizens in order to extend a patronage scheme.
“As never before, Albanians are facing a fury of scandals that follow each other hour after hour. Another scandal has erupted that in any normal country would have been followed by the resignation of the prime minister. Edi Rama not only did not resign but said that it was the problem of the ANA locks. It started with the patronage workers in function of the April 25 election massacre. You media representatives have conveyed our views that the most sensitive data of illegally accessible citizens by the government were put at the service of the SP election headquarters. “The scandal of the flow of personal data of Albanian citizens is a confirmation of the electoral crime”, tha Basha.
According to him, when Edi Rama says that these data have been taken in pieces, he knows very well that he is confirming the denunciation of the Democratic Party, as the data leak scandal is a confirmation of the criminal scheme of electoral crime of the patronage system.
“Edi Rama knows this, and that is why he publicly defends them. Patronagers face prosecution, even imprisonment, in a normal state. “It is scandalous, it shows the high degree of weakness that Albania presents not only for itself but also in relation to the allies for the protection of sensitive data”, he said.
The leader of the Democrats asked the journalists if they remembered the theft of the Tax server, further communicating to them that no one ended up in prison, because according to him it was a scheme orchestrated by the then government.
“Today Rama had to resign and then apologize. It seeks to reduce this scandal that threatens family safety and that this claims to be a technical issue of locks. It is not a matter of an employee having a passion to have in her pocket the salaries of 630 thousand Albanians. “This is a criminal act of such magnitude that there is no order to make it a reality, except for the involvement of the most powerful political figures in the country.”, said Basha.
