The producer from Kosovo, Vjosa Berisha, passed away this Thursday, after a difficult battle with cancer.
The sad news was announced by her husband, Fatos Berisha, through a post on social networks:
“We are deeply saddened to announce that our girlfriend Vjosa Berisha passed away today, June 23, at University College Hospital in London. The date and place of the burial will be announced later. Berisha and Istrefi families “.
Vjosa Berisha was the founder of the PriFilmFest festival, the 14th edition of which is scheduled for July 26-30, and to support Ukrainian filmmakers, this edition will host the 13th edition of Odessa.
Graduated with a Master of Arts in Media and Communication from the University of Westminster, London in the United Kingdom and a postgraduate degree in Contemporary Diplomacy from the University of Malta, Malta, Vjosa Berisha has over 20 years of experience in the film industry.
Since 2013, Vjosa Berisha is also a member of the European Film Academy.
She was also the producer of two feature films, “Flying Circus” (2019) with screenwriter and director Fatos Berisha and co-produced the Macedonian feature film “The Happiness Effect” (2019) with director Borjan Zafirov.
