Saimir Tahiri’s lawyer, Maks Haxhia, gave a coded message to all senior state officials, after the court sentenced the former minister to three years and four months in prison.

The sentence of Saimir Tahiri will satisfy the expectation of the Albanian public, let’s say that it is said to have been fulfilled. It basically has the same decision in force. Revenge satisfaction of the supremacy of an inexplicable power. When I speak of pleasure I mean of mission, but the abuse of office is not within the competence of this court. It was nonsense to lift the suspension, we do not know how the court will justify such a decision which means that this decision was ‘to satisfy’. The foresight in this decision has to do with the fact that the court and those who initiated it are afraid. He had all the possibilities not to come, there were also people who told him not to come. Today it will go to the directorate and from there it will be systematized. There will be recourse, but we await the reasoned decision. I’m sure it will be delayed, but we will prepare. He received it calmly, it’s not that we had not discussed the variants. “After this decision, I tell politicians to dress thickly in this winter time.” said Haxhia.
